The Saab, continued

With the engine analyzed, it was time to move on to other things.

The tranny got back from the shop and I built a tent over the Saab.

The tent doesn't look too bad from the street and things started getting removed from the engine compartment.

Notice the paint over the rust.  That was thanks to the previous owner.  I got the engine compartment cleaned out and moved on to the suspension.

I ended having to grab a few more coils to get the spring out but finally, all was cleared.

I started sand-blasting and priming the engine compartment last week.  I ran out of grey so I went to black primer.  In the right picture, you can better see the rust that's been painted over.

Sandblasting's such fun.  The spray back.  The dust.  The grit that gets in your ears.  Thought about buying a hood but I don't do this enough to justify it. Hmmmm.

I've been using a pretty rough grit of sand to get the rust and any loose paint off.  Also, the back of the shop is starting to get pretty filled with parts.  Time to organize and clean the shop.  Maybe this week.
